I have recently traced my wife's family tree back to a McNaughton family who on his death certificate says he was born in Perthshire, Scotland.He came over to Canada around 1833 I believe with a brother or two I'll give you some names and dates here to help.
Donald McNAUGHTON b1803 Perthshire Scotland, d15 Aug 1876 Vaughan, Ontario, Canada
His wife Isabella McDONALD b1813 Scotland
Rev. Peter McNAUGHTON b1799 Scotland, d10 May 1878 Vaughan, Ontario, Canada
His wife Agnes Elizabeth MONTEITH, b 1809 Scotland, d 10 Mar 1889 Vaughan, Ontario Canada
