Birmingham Magers?

I have a branch of my Majors/Magers family in Alabama, but we don't seem to be related.I find your William B. and Ida E. Majors in the 1900 census for Jefferson Co., Alabama, and also in the 1920 census there, along with their children. It appears that your William B. Majors was raised by his grandparents? He states in census records that his mother was born in either GA or SC, so he clearly had links to those states through family members.
Working on the premise that William stayed in the area of Alabama a long time and perhaps was raised there, I checked the 1880 census for Jefferson Co., Alabama, and find who I think is William living with his grandmother:
1880 census, 10 June, Jefferson Co., AL, dwelling 225:
Richardson, Mary, 43, b. SC, father b. SC, mother b. SC
Richardson, John, 18, son, b. GA, father b. GA, mother b. SC
Richardson, Laura, 11, daughter, b. SC, father b. SC, mother b. SC
Majors, William, 11, grandson, b. SC, father b. SC, mother b. SC
This certainly looks like your William Majors to me.Then, working backwards to find Mary Richardson's daughter who could be the mother of your William Majors, I find them in the 1870 census for Floyd Co., GA, enumerated there 22 July in the Cunningham's Station area, dwelling 272:
Richardson, Mary B., 38, keeping house, b. SC
Richardson, Anna E., 17, b. GA
Richardson, Mary T., 15, b. GA
Richardson, Manda, 9, b. GA
Richardson, John E., 7, b. GA (see 1880 census above)
Richardson, Jas. Thomas, 5, b. GA
Richardson, Laura L., 2, b. SC (See 1880 census above)
MAJORS, Nancy L., no occupation, b. GA
MAJORS, Willie, age 1, b. SC
This appears to be your William Majors with his mother, Nancy L. (Richardson) Majors, and Nancy's mother and siblings. Of course, you'll need to validate this yourself to ensure it's accurate; this is just what I find with a quick search.
I see that Eddie B. Majors married in 1943 in Jefferson County, Alabama, but it doesn't say to whom he married. In the 1930 census for Birmingham, Jefferson Co., AL, he's still living with his parents, and his married sister, Cora Simpson, lives next door with her family:
1930 Birmingham, Jefferson Co., AL:
Dwelling.
Majors, William B., head, 62, b. GA, father b. U.S., mother b. AL, house builder
Majors, Ida L., wife, 54, b. AL, father b. AL, mother b. AL, basket maker at home
Majors, Eddie B., son, 19, b. AL, carpenter
Majors, Claudie C., son, 17, b. AL, roofer
Majors, Clydie C., son, 17, b. AL, ditch digger helper
Dwelling.
Simpson, Roy D., 33, b. AL, father b. AL, mother b. AL, roofer
Simpson, Cora O., wife, 32, b. AL, basket maker at home
Simpson, Thomas W., 11, son, b. AL
Simpson, Roy E., 8, son, b. AL
Simpson, Dorllen E., daughter, 7, b. AL
Simpson, Ida M., 5, daughter, b. AL
Simpson, Ellen M., mother, age 74, widow, b. AL
There was a Claude C. Majors who divorced Geneva Majors in 1952 in Birmingham, AL, but no other info.
Hope this helps.
