Does anyone know the names of Charles Magill and Elizabeth Lester's children???My great grandfather was Charles Newton Magill, born???.Charles could have been born Nov. 1815 as the 1900 census has or 1825 to 1830 according to the 1860 to 1880 census.Charles is either buried in Kansas or Iowa.Charles had a son William E. Magill that died at a young age and had daughters Rebecca, Margaret, Catherine, and Rachel (my grandmother).Charles Newton Magill was born in Indiana and his parents were both born in Tennessee.Charles moved from Indiana to Franklin, Decatur County, Iowa and was living there during the 1860 census.I believe he was from Sullivan County, IN., because on the same census page is Calvin Johnson who married Sarsh Magill, they were both from Turman, Sullivan County, IN.Calvin Johnson's wife Sarah Magill was born in Tennessee. Not sure of Charles Newton and Sarah Magill's relationship but do believe they were related somehow.
Charles Newton Magill married Mary M. Wilson, daughter of Isaac and Rebecca "Ashby" Wilson.Charles Magill's future wife Mary M. Wilson and her family are also listed on the same page of the 1860 Franklin, Decatur County, Iowa census.Charles was committed to an Asylum after 1880 but escaped shortly after and lived out the remainder of his life in Atwood, Kansas.Charles had a neighbor contact his daughter sometime after 1900 letting them know he was still alive.Where and when he died we do not know but was probably Kansas or Iowa.
Any help in solving this mystery would be greatly appreciated.
