Funeral services were held at at ten o'clock Sat. morning at the home in Georgetown for Mrs. Marillah E. Makemson, wife of J. D. Makemson, who died Friday morning.Deceased is survived by her husband; one son, Henry Daffern of Georgetown; five daughters, Mattie Daffern of Austin, Mrs. H. R. Agnew of Austin, Mrs. C. L. Ray of Austin, Mrs. E. L. Hawkins of Austin, and Mrs. A. J. Walker of Rockwood; her mother, Mrs. Mollie E. Huggins of Bellmont, and three brothers of Bellmont.
Marillah's maiden name was White.She married first to Wm. H. Daffern 1883 in Wilson Co, Tx.They had 7 children. He is listed still alive in the 1900 cens. of Gonzales Co., Tx. Marillah married James in 1905 in Williamson Co., Tx.
The obit gives his name ad J. D. Makemson but marriage record shows as James B.So is this James Bruce Makemson, s/o David Ruthvin & Rebecca Newman Rhymes Makemson??James & Marillah are living next to David on 1920 cens.WW1 registration lists James as a laborer, with wife as Marillah.
It was thought that this James also ran a saloon in Georgetown???
