I am looking for more information on my grx2-grandfather, William Malcolm, (b. 1828) of Lower River Inhabitants/Port Malcolm, Richmond Co, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia (Canada).
In the 1881 Canadian Census, William Malcolm is listed as a merchant, of the Presbyterian faith, and married to a Catholic, Bridget (b. 1830, believed to be, Proctor, and of Irish descent).
Their children, listed as Catholic, are: Eliza Ellen (b. 1866, later Forbrigger), Susan (b. 1855), Edward (b.1861), William (b.1860) and Harriet Jane (b. 1857, my gr-grandmother--who subsequently married (1889) James MacLean of Port Hawkesbury (shoemaker and shoe store owner, Methodist), and gave birth to my grandfather, William Vibert MacLean (1890-1954).
Any and all information about William Malcolm, his parents and relations and/or his wife's parents and relations would be very welcome indeed.
