This information was gleaned from CENSUS records and known family information, and thank you for posting this for others to see, however, what I am looking for is information that is not readaly found in the online CENSUS records, etc. For example Richard and his sister Dorothy were living with their mother in their grandfathers home (William Covey), this from the 1900 NY CENSUS. What happened to Richard (Sr) and the rest of the Mallery clan. It is very unlikly that he was not on the home front due to military service due to his age, to young for the Civil War since that was the era in which he was born and would have possibly been in his late 30s early 40s for the SpanAm conflicts. Were ther any other siblings to Richard Sr. I refer to my grandfather's father as Richard Sr because my grandfather was sometimes refered to as Jr though he NEVER listed this on any official documents.
