Tom, I am looking for a family that moved from Les Cedres Quebec, to Long Sault Island ( in the St. Lawrence River between Cornwall Ontario and Massena NY) in the 1830's. I am thinking that some of them may have moved further west with the immigration of 1850. Thair name was also spelled this way on the census records. This is what I have on them, if you see any further references:
I have been looking for the children’s baptisms of Jean Baptiste Melotte/Mulot/ Mylotte and Genevieve St. Michel. They married in 1812 in Les Cedres Quebec.
I believe that these are their children but I only have a few of the baptisms:
Adelaide b@ 1814( Already married in 1840 in Hogansburg, NY, with Michael Mouso in census of Massena NY)
Peter b. @ 1815
John and Joseph b. 1818 and 1820 baptised in Les Cedres
Justin b. Feb 26, 1823.
Mary Ann ( b. 1820-1830)( or Angeline)
Paul and Zoe 1825 and 1826 bapt. In St. Andrew’s near Cornwall
Justin and Adelaide, John and Peter were in NY for the 1840 and 1850 census, but then some of this family using the surname Mallette moved west.
