I research the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800.
Note 1 - Without a KNOWN county, the chance of an ancestor's rcds NOT being in this database is AT LEAST 35%.
Note 2 - Only 1/2 of Co. Cork's rcds are in this database.
Note 3 - The RC church kept control over most parish rcds from Tipperary (north). These are ONLY available thru the Tipperary Family History Research center at a substantial fee (regardless of outcome).
For Sara(h) Malloy B ???? somewhere in Ireland with a father forenamed Jacob, I found 0 rcds.
For Ber(nard) Malloy B ditto, I found ditto.
For Hugh Malloy B ditto, ditto.
For Roger Malloy B ditto, ditto.
For Mich(ael) Malloy B ditto, I found 1 rcd in 1854, Co. Tipperary.
For Ja(cob)(ames) B ditto, I found 2 rcds for Jacob, but none within a relevant range.
For Jacob Malloy M ???? somewhere in Ireland, I found 4 rcds: 1854 Tipperary, 1857 Tipperary, 1861 Mayo, and 1873 Mayo, Castlebar #1 district.
There are no Gerry or O'Gerry surnames in this database. The closest is Geraghty.
For B(ridget) Geraghty M ditto, I found 58 rcds. None had a common yr, county, and parish as those for Jacob.
This lack of conclusive results implies either the rcds of these events didn't survive, or haven't been digitized yet. Suggest you wait until the database is more complete.
Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg.
