You've got the correct Francis. Some of the confusion that has arisen is that Manering Minerva Jane Smallwood went, primarially, by the name of Jane Smallwood, and Sarah Ann Louisa Smallwood, whom we believe to be her sister, was known as Sarah, Ann, Anne, Louisa, and other conbinations. Francis WAS married a third time to Louisa Noftsgar. This marriage took place in between the sisters, and happened quickly after Jane died. Ophelia Bradbury has never come up in our research, so I don't know where she fits in. I can't figure Martha being raised by other family members as her mother lived well beyond Martha's birth.
The other confusing thing about the Malott's is the many variations of the name.
I can send you a ged file, or a descendant list of the Malott's, begining with Josias Marles/Merlet about 1620 in France. Contact me at my email address and we can arrange it.
I'd also like to know more about where you fit in. A lot of the Malott's migrated to the Marion, Indiana (Grant County) and South Bend, Indiana (St. Joesph County) area in the 1700/1800's. I come from the line that stayed in the S.W. Ohio area.
