Ann, Here is some more information re T.W. and M.H. Manahan: T.W. was born in MS on July 22, 1847, married M.H. on May 7, 1867, died on September 11, 1925 in Teague, TX, where he is buried in Salem Cemetery.He came to TX to join his parents, John Franklin and Malinda Seeley Manahan, after M.H. died.M.H. was born on Jan. 1, 1852, in MS and died December 27, 1878, in MS. Children:all were born in Mississippi Mary I. L.b. July 8, 1870--that's all I know about her she did not come to Texas with T.W. Annie Isabelle b.July 1, 1872 - came to Texas married W. M. Watson; died April 29, 1940, in Texas City, TX.daughter: Velma married C.R.Owens Melinda Jane b. February 1, 1875 - came to Texas married G. H. Elliott; died October 24, 1940, in Teague, TX.3 children: Floy married Howard H. Davis; Harvey G. Elliott; Vera married (?) Geppert Sophronia Alice b.September 8, 1876 - came to Texas married Edd D. Johnson; died August, 1961. 2 children:Loraine married A.S. Johnson; Edd D. Jr. Norton L. b. November 30, 1878; died December 29, 1878 From the dates of M.H.'s death and Norton's death, I think it is safe to assume she died of childbirth. Much of this information came to me from Judy Baker, who responded to my query on Gen.forum; the rest came from my cousin, Rex Goolsby, who still lives in Teague, TX., near where T.W. came with his girls and later married my grandmother, Florence Kennedy.T. W. and Florence had 9 children---my dad, Hugh, was the youngest.Keep in touch.
