Okay, folks. Here's a mystery. The family story has it that one of my greatgrandmother's sisters married a (gasp) non-Catholic who also had the temerity to be a policeman in the Royal Irish Constabulary. The story has it that this sister and her husband were obliged to leave the area.I've been told that they a) went to Australia and b) that they went to America, eventually settling in Kentucky. I don't know the first name of the sister, nor do I know the name of the man she married.GGrandma was Bridget Mannion, and she was born ca. 1840 near Menlough, Killoscobe, Galway. Her daughters were Kate, Mary, Ellen, Bridget, Nora, Julia, and Hanora Byron. It's possible that one of these names was also the name of the mystery sister. Does anyone have a Mannion in their tree who fits this description?I know, I know. It's a long shot.
