OK, I would appreciate any help. I have a fair amount of research, done by non-French speaking relatives. I know it has a number of mistakes and that is just in what I have had time to try to verify. Here is what I have.
Jacques Robidas m Marie Louise Guittre
Gabriel Robidas dit Manseau m Madeleine Benoit
Francois Manseau m Jeanne Beaulorier-Provencher
Francois Manseau m Josephte Bergeron
Manseau Charles m Elizabeth Cote
Manseau Louis m Eulalie Barbeau
Rev Omer Manseau Cure de S. Cyrille de Wendover
Manseau Jean-Baptiste (1818 Oct 26) m Josephte Roberge Jacques L'Achijan
Manseau Charles (1849 20 aout) m Francoise Brien dit Desrochers (Joliette)
Manseau George (1849 20 aout) m Josephine Baudoin (Joliette)
Manseau Leonard m Philomene Tellier de la Fortune (Lake Linden)
Manseau Alfred m Georgiana Picotte (Lake Linden)
And I have pretty complete information from there down for those interested. The family moved to Detroit and my grandmother Melina married a Canadian named Neil Moore.
Now my questions. If in fact we are descended from this priest who was the mother?? Surely this must be known. I had one distant cousin I found online tell me that this was not the case and he sent me an alternate version in which we are descended from a fille du roy. Unfortunately I lost this in a hard drive crash.
Also I am assuming the the 20 Aug 1849 is Charles' date of birth, not George's.
Is it really de La Fortune or maybe dit La Fortune?
Any information on how the family came to be in Lake Linden would be appreciated as well as some information on how accurate the above might be.
By the way, I do speak French so if you have any of this up on a web page somewhere it may save you some typing... Thanks Dana
