I have been reading some of the posts here on the Mansell forum and I came upon the one below. The first one is the Mansell who was married to my ggrandfathers sister.( Mary E.Pittman). John W. Mansell. Now the second post is something I came across on this message board, I just want to know if I am related to Morning Dove Mansell through this Mansell and only for the reason thatmy ggrandfather's(Mary's brother) son, Joseph C. Pittman m Emma Mezo in Hamilton County,IL. Her mother was Sara Angeline Smith and Sara's aunt Gatsey Smith m. a John Presley in Monroe County,TN. Family says they both died in TN. The rest came to IL. I'm trying to figure out where the Presley came into the family. And to what Presley line he is related. Gatsey's mother was a Sarah Cox and some of her relation(Burrell Cox m.married a Louisa Presley in Hamilton County,IL. Her parents being Robert H. Presley m Catherine Duvall m. Oct.5, 1855 in Hamilton County,IL. Robert H. parent being John Presley m. Prudence Craven. Just want to know which side I'm dealing with here. Because I don't know who this John Presley is? The Smith side or Mansell side? I'm highly confused on the Mansell side?

Yes, Richard Rice Mansell who married Elizabeth Mobley is the son of Robert Mansell and Elizabeth Pratt. However, that's not the Morning Dove line. I think you have confused two different Richard Mansells. You may be thinking of Richard Mansell who married Elender, and it was his son William who is linked to Morning Dove. Just to make it more confusing, Richard Rice Mansell and Elizabeth Mobley also had a son named William Lovit. But we have two totally different lines here. If you like, I can mail you a copy of the descendants of each of the two Roberts and each of the two Williams, and the two Richards. It is easy to confuse the two lines. The Morning Dove line is also the line, of course, that connects to Elvis Presley. Some of my cousins would love to prove they connect to Elvis Presley, but we do not. Perhaps you do.
