In 1968, my father, Joe Everett Mansker, and I went to the Mansker Cemetary, in Eastland County, Texas. We were excorted by Charles Joseph (Dode) Mansker who was a resident of Eastland. He told us the history of the cemetary and showed us the outline of the original ranch house on the ground.Parts of the brick pillars were still there that had supported the name arch of the gateway. This is all gone now that the county has made "improvements" and is maintaining the cemetary.I had pictures of all this, but they were lost when my home burned last year.I think my sisters still have copies.I have been back to the cemetary several times, the latest visit was 3 years ago.The cemetary was begun when several people were killed during indian raids to the area. The first was a Mansker daughter who had married John Coffee. The Mansker family donated the land to the county. It was later renamed the Alameda Cemetary. It is near to the Mansker Lake.
