He was my wife's great great grandfather and we are trying to research him and his family.
He moved to London where he became an author and journalist and was Chief Editor at Cassell & Co (publishers). He married Margaret Emily Deering (b.1854)
They had 6 children:
Margaret Esther Manson(b. circa 1878) - my wife's grandmother James Bolivar Manson (1879 - 1945) Charles Deering Manson (b. circa 1880) Robert Graham Manson (1883 - 1950) Rhoda Mary(?)Manson (b.1888) - never married Magnus Murray Manson (b.1892)
Magnus Murray was killed in action in Normandy, France during the Great War in 1915 at the age of 23. We have quite a bit of information about him including a photograph of his grave sent to us by the War Graves Commission.
I am particulary keen to get more information about Robert Graham Manson and especially about his musical compositions - maybe any Mansons in Toronto may be able to assist.....
Any information about any of the above would be most welcome. If you would like me to email you with any of the documents already in our possession or any other information then please let me know.
