I have Sidney Mapp, born about 1860 in Campbell Co., GA to William F. M. Mapp and Elizabeth Hattaway, who md. 12/28/1854 in Campbell Co., GA.William was born about 1835 and died between 1864 (their last child was born about 1865) and the 1870 census.William was a Confederate soldier in Co. A, 21st Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry.I have Wm. as the son of John A. Mapp and Sarah (Brothers?).His sister, Amanda Jane Mapp (1832-1914) was married to Elizabeth's brother, Emanuel Hattaway (1827-1921).
After William's death, Elizabeth remarried to a Mr. Vaughn and may have been living in TX as early as 1880 and died in 1903.She is buried next to her sister, Mary Hattaway Teal,at Baggett Creek Cemetery in Comanche Co., TX.
Sidney Mapp married first to Allie White and had a daughter, Ora Lee Mapp, born in 1887.Ora married her second cousin, Washington Payne "Doc" Stephens Jr. (grandson of Mary Hattaway Teal).At some point, Sidney returned to Campbell Co., GA and married Maggie Cash.Maggie was Sidney's uncle (David Hattaway)'s niece (by marriage.)David and Mary Cash Hattaway raised Mary's nieces, Maggie and Mary Ann Cash.David & Mary had no children of their own.David lost a leg at the Battle of Peachtree Creek during the Civil War and farmed on a peg leg (he died at age 86).The 1910 Census of Campbell Co., GA, Rivertown, dwelling #178, family #180 lists Sidney, Maggie, daughter Lillie (born about 1905), daughter Hattie (Born about 1907), and Maggie's sister, Mary Ann "Annie" Cash.I have lots of pictures, estate & military records I would be happy to share.I don't have any pictures of Elizabeth, William or Sidney, but I do have pictures of Emanuel Hattaway, Amanda Mapp Hattaway, and Eliza Hattaway Cook (Elizabeth Hattaway Mapp's youngest sister).I'd love to hear from you.
