Dear Ruth,
I will keep an eye out for Martha.I go in fits and starts on my genealogical research and of late have been working on a republication of a 1906 work on the Ongs in America.I'll make a note of your interest and hope that I run across something later.I have an ancestor who was a Powell born in Virginia and reputed to be from Broussards in Florida but so far I've had no luck with any Southern searches. Big yawn for you!
My publishing project has taken me back to 17th-c. England and even Roman Britain and even events on the Continent.I'm embarrassed to see how much I don't know about European history, let alone English history. Humbling.
I did get a thrill when I found a PDF image of a collateral ancestor's 1666 willin The National Archives (UK).Fascinating to read his will, and there were a few useful details about his family. He must have died of the plague in Essex. I was able to pay for and download the image.Old and new!
More than you wanted to know.
Warmest regards,
Richard
