My husband's mother was a Marchyshyn who originated from Butler County, PA.Her father "Frank" died between 1920 and 1930 and her mother married his brother, "John".John was born in 1899 in "Austria" {part of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire at that time, but called himself Ukrainian- which is geographically correct- as that part of Austria-Hungary known as "Galicia" eventually became part of the Ukraine}John came to the US in 1911 or so and setttled in Butler, PA.In doing research on the Marchyshyn's, I've come across the name Kost Marchyshyn from Altoona and always wondered if there was a connection, but had no one to contact up until now.I have John's parents names;I got them from requesting a copy of his SS-5 form from Social Security. Please e-mail me directly, if you want to exchange information.
