Hi Jason, About six years ago I was wandering around in Gastown in downtown Vancouver when I discovered a little shop called "Medieval Coats of Arms" the address is Box 3791, Vancouver, B.C. V6B 3Z1 if it is still open or you can try phoning (604) 669-7422. If for some reason you cannot get a hold of them I'll give you what I can remember. Unfortunately I did not get a picture at the time. I do have a written description somewhere but I can't find it. It goes something like this: The family name is in a banner(I don't remember the colors)under a gold shield. There is a red lion on the shield facing to the right holding a wagon wheel. The lady there told me that this signified business or trade. She told me there was no motto which also indicated that the family name was very old indeed. It was found in a church in the French Alps and dated to the early 1300's. She listed her sources which I cannot remember and pointed out to me that there was about a 50/50 chance that it actually had anything to do with the family name and that there really was no way to deny or confirm it's origins. However you just never know, that was six years ago and new info surfaces all the time.I hope this was of some help to you.
