Dear Rick- I hope you can help me. I am currently working on not only my own familty tree but also that of my in-laws. My In-laws are from England. My Mother-in-Laws birth father was named Sebastian Marcus. He married Edith Harriet Sophia Pethers (1899-1988), do not know the year of marriage, of his birth or death. They had three daugthers between 1920 and 1925. He left the family before 1930. There is a story that he had to return to Ireland to divorce his first wife. This took place some time between 1925 and 1930. My mother-in-law recieved weekly or monthly checks from County Cork, Ireland until she turned sixteen. All she knows is that at one time his co-owned a card board box company called Jullian and Marcus in London. Her step-father would allow no mention of him and destroyed all pictures and such. She does know at one time the family name was Markushevich or Mokushevich (unsure of spelling). She thinks he may have been born in County Cork, Ireland. She does know he was Jewish and of Russian/Polish ancestry. I have not been able to find anything on him. The only reference I have found is that Edith used Marcus as a maidian name when she remarried in 1930. If you can point me in any direction to help locate any information on him, I would greatly appreciate it.
