Very interesting.Could you give me a source for the information from the lady researcher you mentioned? Want to amend what I have posted and would like to reference her or the sources she used. What you sent in your e-mail is very siminar to what I have posted, but some more detail can now be added: My research stated that Hugh Massy I (General Massy) married Margret Percy and had two children, Hugh II, his heir and Elizabeth (the lady researcher says her name was Alice who married Rev. Anthony Irby). My research states that General Hugh Massy's second wife (name unknown) had a son Samuel, born at Duntryleague in 1665(lady researcher added Doctor of Physic). The lady researcher also added that General Hugh Massy's second wife had a daughter as well, married to John Newell, High Sheriff of the county of Limerick. Only other addition to what I have posted is where I stated that Hugh II married Amy Benson in 1684...They had 4 sons and 2 daughters (the lady researchers states that their names were Hugh, John, William, and Charles and Margaret and Amy). My take on your e-mail is that we now have more detail, but haven't solved whether our John was a son of the General(if he was, probably likely in the second marriage date range due to his birth date of 1662). Could have been illegitmate and/or sent to in bondage to America as some think. Anyway, let us keep researching and hope we can find out the probable truth of our John prior to 1683.Thanks so much for working on this. Keep going...I am. Keep me posted. Hope others will join in.
