I am writing in the hopes that you may provide a connection with my Marden line that is in London.I have William Marden (a green grocer) who married Jane Roberts in 1829. (I have no idea where he was born but Jane seems to have been from London.A sister of hers, Sarah, was a marriage witness and I think I have found their baptisms.
William and Jane had one son, born Dec. 1832 and baptized in Jan. 1833.Son was George John Roberts Marden and I see no other children for them.Searches of burials for William and Jane have yielded nothing.George went to Australia (as a cabin passenger) in 1848-seemingly by himself.
A researcher sent me a certificate once of a East Grinstead Marden who coincidentally was a green grocer (which is perhaps a lead).
George named his children:Charles, William John (my great grandfather), Richard Roland and Jane. When I saw that there was a Charles listed in your "tree thread", I thought I should check it out.
My own father was William Marden Link and my brother is Philip Marden Link (carrying on the family name as my grandmother was one of 4 daughters). Perhaps my brother, who will be a first time father at 46 this July, will also carry the Marden foward.
