Leonard On behalf of Troy Hansen, thank you for sharing the information on Abraham Marks' two wives and clarifying the confusion with the children from each marriage. I am now assisting Troy with research on the Miami, Wabash & Grant County, Indiana part of his family research, and, in sorting out the Marks families living there, I have branched out to documenting the Miami Indian families in Miami County, Indiana and surrounding counties.
To which of the lines of the Marks family do you belong?
I would greatly appreciate any additional information you would care to share on Commodore Perry Marks' son, Elijah "Me-cat-a-mung-wah" Marks, as well as Hannah "Wap-pe-ze-quah" Dixon Marks' son, Cornelius Cotesepin "Pe-me-se-ah" Dixon (father: unknown Cotticippin) and Charles "As-son-sing-gah" Marks, son of Abraham Marks and Hannah Dixon.
If you are from the Abraham Marks-Barbara Young line, there are family stories about Abraham Marks which we would like to either refute or corroborate, like the circumstances surrounding Abraham's death and where he died?
I would appreciate hearing from anyone researching this central Indiana Marks family or their ties to the Miami Indian Nation in Indiana. Shirley Griffin
