My Marling line is from Ohio and is still there. My Grandfather has told me that his grandfather arrived here in America with his parents from County Cork, Ireland when he was just a child. They migrated to WV after several years where he became a blacksmith as did his son. Dont know if this will help you as to your origns but I hope that it will.
