Hi, Yes, her maiden name was Mary Anne Robert Jones. She married a Benjamin Fitzpatrick, a lawyer and son of Philips Fitzpatrick and Frances Tranum, in 1850 (I think) and he died in 1851 or so.These are prominent southern settler families from VA>GA>AL.Then she married George Marquis in 1854.
Mary Anne Robert Jones was a daughter of Mary B. Harwell (my ggggm who remarried Elam Fitzpatrick, my ggggf and a cousin of Benjamin's) and a mysterious Robert Jones of VA who died in 1835 and left an estate.I am still trying to figure out who this Robert Jones was, as he died and left her substantial land and slave holdings in NC.
George Marquis seems to have been the only branch of his line to have moved south and married into one of the old families there, but I could be wrong.
By the way, I have never found any mention in my research that he had the middle name of "Milton" except on the lines you all have here.He did live in Milton FL in Santa Rosa county, though.
If you know any of his descendants, let me know.I am curious about this line as I hope they may have some info about Mary A.R. Jones.
