I'm looking for information about Emily Marriner, my great grandmother, born in England in 1858 (?) and died in Toronto, Canada in about 1914. Her parents, Susan Skace Marriner and (Charles) Goodwin Marriner, came to Chicagowith Emily's siblings, John, Robert and Edith, leaving Emily behind in England with a Dr. Skace of London, as she was too young to travel. Presumably, Dr. Skace was Emily's uncle and Susan's brother. The senior Marriners died of cholera, in Chicago. Edith was adopted by a Helen Rogers, ofN.Y. She didn't fromally adopt the boys but looked after them as well.
Any information I can find about Emily would be great. Also curious about Emily's brother, Robert Goodwin Marriner, born in London, in 1857. He later became a physician and was located in either Menomonee, Mich. or the Chicago area.
