I made a mistake, I should have said that I BELIEVE I am descended from Elizabeth Marriott.
I received a copy of additional pages from Gooken's Book, Page 423.196 and page 423.197. I quote in part: "Some researchers feel, however, that Elizabeth Marriott married instead a Luke Meazle/Mizzell II, and that upon his death in mid 1693 remarried to a Robert Hill. When this became known to this compiler RNG, a restudy of the data led to identification of a couple of disturbing questions: (1) if Elizabeth was born close to 1670, she would have been at least a decade older than Sion Hill, Jr. b. 1682. This raises an interesting conjecture about such a disparate age marriage. At the time of Elizabeth (Meazle/Mizell) Hill's report of Luke Meazle's inventory (Nov. 1694) she was already married to Robert Hill.Sion Hill, Jr. would have been only 12 years old at that time."
I do not believe that more information will surface to prove this.We are so fortunate to have the valuable Surry County information that we do have and can only evaluate it.I tend to agree with Mr. Gooken's revised opinion.
Whoever Elizabeth Mizell Hill was, I have serious questions as to her maternal values. Her children were taken to North Carolina cir 1698 by William Charlton.I have an affadavit in which her oldest son, Luke, gave his birth as 1683. This means that he left at age 10. Why?
