I am trying to trace the descendants of a branch of my family that moved to Leeds from Suffolk between 1881 and 1891. I'd be very grateful for any help or advice....
The rather long-winded details are as follows:
Maurice Marriott was born in 1840 at Tostock, Suffolk, England, the son of another Maurice Marriott.He married Susannah and had 8 children before moving from Suffolk to Leeds some time between 1881 and 1891. He was listed as a general labourer and head of household in the 1891 census at 8 Goodwin Terrace, Wortley, Leeds, Yorkshire. He died in Sep 1892 at Bramley, Leeds.
Children of Maurice Marriott:
A.Maurice Marriott, born circa 1868 in Tostock, Suffolk. He married Hannah Elizabeth Parker in Jun 1896 at Bramley, Leeds. He was listed as a brickyard labourer and head of household in the 1901 census at 4 Bosnia Street, Armley, Leeds. He had one son (also called Maurice) born circa 1897 at Wortley, Leeds.
B.Mary A Marriott was born circa 1873 in Tostock, Suffolk.May not have been alive by the time the family moved to Yorkshire.
C.Harriet Elizabeth Marriott was born circa 1874 in Tostock, Suffolk. She died in Tostock in 1889.
D.Alfred Marriott was born circa 1876 in Tostock. He married Matilda Marriott, was a farm labourer in 1891 and was listed as a cart driver and head of household in the 1901 census at 15 Empress Place, Wortley, Leeds. He had two daughters,Olive May Marriott, born circa 1896 in Armley, Leeds and Mary Hannah Marriott, born circa 1898 in Idle, Yorkshire.
E.Emma Marriott was born circa 1878 in Tostock. She died in 1889.
F.Arthur Marriott was born circa 1879 in Tostock. He married Minnie Marriott and was listed as a railway platelayer and head of household in the 1901 census at 6 Tadcaster Street, Armley, Leeds.
G.Herbert Marriott was born after 1881 in Tostock, Suffolk, England.
H.Maud Marriott was born after 1881 in Tostock, Suffolk, England
