Looking for info about James L or Columbus "Lum" Martin of GA (probably Madison County GA) Would like to know wife's full name; parents; DOB etc. Here is what I know:
James L Martin aka "Columbus" or "Lum" enlisted in 16th Georgia Infantry Company D "Danielsville Guard" on May 14, 1862. Company D was organized at Danielsville, Madison County, GA.
He was wounded at Chancellorsville Va May 3, 1863.
Admitted May 11, 1863 at General Hospital Howards Grove Richmond VA as James L Martin with "Vul. Sclopt Chest" Died May 12, 1863. Remarks: "Penetrating"
Appears on Register of General Hospital Howards Grove Richmond VA as James L Martin Remarks: "Died May 12, 1863 Penetrating wound Thorax wounding lung."
Widow Mary Ann S Martin applied for "arrearage pay" on Oct 12, 1863.
