Researching the Stephen STEWART [b. 3 Sep 1777 Lunenburg, MA], and wife Ann (Nancy) WYMAN of Malpole, New Hampshire, who about 1815 removed to Philadelphia, PA. Two of their children: 1) John Harmon STEWART b. 1801 NH, married 29 May 1834 - Amanda H. MASSEY of Philadelphia, PA.2) Mary Ann STEWART [ or name: Mary Jane STEWART] b. 18 Dec 1814 NH, married Charles B. MASSEY of Philadelphia, PA [occupation: machinist].
It has been reported that John Harmon STEWART died in 1843 Philadelphia, PA.
In 1850 Census - Camden South Ward, NJ - You find Amanda STEWART living in the Morris and Sarah DICKINSON household. Her age 44 b. PA. In 1860 Census - Philadelphia, PA - You find Amanda STEWART age 50 b. PA, living in the Morris and Sarah DICKINSON household, but you also find Ann MASSEY age 80 b. PA living in the household.
What I find interesting is my ancestor I am researching is - William C. MASSEY - occupation: machinist, b. abt 1822 PA. In 1850 Census he is living in Spring Garden, Philadelphia, PA with his wife Jane and young daughter, and Ann MASSEY living in household. On Ancestry.com it gives Ann Massey's age as 48, but on Familysearch.org and if you look closely her age is 68. In 1860 William C. MASSEY and his family moved to Phoenixville, Chester, PA. [William C. MASSEY married Jeanette Smith dau. of John and Rebecca (Louderback) Smith. Their children: Ann Jeanette MASSEY; Harriet (Hallie) MASSEY wife of John Q. GINODO; Amanda Stewart MASSEY; William C. MASSEY, Jr.; Emily James MASSEY wife of Joseph Wilkes MACKENZIE. In 1880 Census - William C. Massey and family are living in Trenton, New Jersey.
So is Ann MASSEY born about 1780-1782 Pennsylvania the mother of Charles B. MASSEY who married Mary Jane STEWART, Amanda H. MASSEY who married John Harmon STEWART, and William C. MASSEY who married Jeanette SMITH? How are the DICKINSON family related? Would like to hear from anyone who might have information on this MASSEY - STEWART - DICKINSON families of Philadelphia, PA
