Patricia, the Masten line started in this country with the arrival of John Masten, of England, who shows up in Flushing, Long Island, NY in the mid 1600's.His son Cornelius settled in Kingston, NY in the late 1600's. His grandson Aart moved to Dutchess Co., NY in the 1700's. This was the splitting of the tribe, Aart was a British Loyalist and the Kingstonites were revolutionaries. If your aunts belonged to the DAR they were more than likely related to the west shore of the Hudson bunch. There were a number of Masten's who served in the Revolutionary War from the Kingston area.Sorry, don't know anything about a Masten being on the Mayflower.
