Dear Cindy, The Benjamin (Franklin?) Mathers I have knowledge of was a Virginian b. 1800-1810and the son of my direct line of Benjamin, b. before 1765, d. c. 1833-35 Prince William County.
Benjamin's brothers were Thomas, Jefferson, John and Joseph. At age 50, (my) Joseph also had issue named Benjamin (Franklin?) who in 1850 was but nine years of age.
Jefferson c.1802-5- will entered Sept. 19th 1842 in Fairfax C.H. had three sons whos names George Washington, Andrew Jackson and two daughtres named Ann and Lucinda my line of which is of Thomas Jefferson Mathers.All three brothers were surviving Confederate Veterans serving from the Commonwealth.My Great Grand Father, Franklin Walter Mathers (1880-1956) was born at Middlebrook in Redland Maryland just North of Rockville).His enlistment form declared William F. Mathers of 50 Myrtle Street NE, Washington, DC as Next-of-Kin when joining the 43rd USV Inf. during the Phillipine Insurrection of 1901. Hope this helps you somewhat.
