I found a 1812 pension request record for my 4xgreat grandfather via his widow Margaret Burgess. His name was William Burgess. (From Fairfax Co and Loudoun Counties in Va) Apparentally, there is a connection to John W. Jefferson in Barbourville, Cable Co, Wva dated 1850's. In the letter a person named G or J W. Jefferson, dau or nephew of Henry Jefferson (wife is Elizabeth Bushby) called Maragret Burgess "Dear Aunt" and said her brother (if I read the letter correctly)is Henry. Is this Margaret Burgess a former Miss Margaret Jefferson, or are the Jefferson's related to her late husband Wm. Burgess.
Thanks in advance. (Margaret lived in Loudoun, Co, Va) Additional information just found indicated Margaret's maiden name was Mathis or Mathers with a realtive of WR Mathis and Sintha Mathis.
