ANDREW JACKSON MATLOCK, b. 1842, Roane County, Tennessee; d. 27 January 1864, Rock Island, Illinois. He died as a POW and is buried on the prison grounds in the National Cemetery, Number 286..

Notes for ANDREW JACKSON FATE MATLOCK: In 1860 this family was living in Giles County, Tennessee. Also in the household was Christian's sister Tabitha Matlock age 30.

William Matlock from Roane Co., Tn. to Ark. to Hood Co, Tx. served in the Home Guard (Tn.) during the War and as a result of the War lost all of his property. Two of his brothers, James and Jackson were also Confederate soldiers, James being wounded and dying during the War.Please note that, at this point, there is no mention of Andrew's death.
A.J. Matlock, Pvt. Co. A 7th Regt. Ala. Vol. died Jan. 1863 Rock Island Prison. Buried grave No. 286. Pension application filed by his widow, Christian J. Matlock Limestone Co., Ala.
