Does anyone have any information on a Margaret Matlock b. July 1, 1822.She was married to Edward Wilson McGaughey January 18,1838.
This was taken from page 707 of the Weik's History of Putnam County. "Edward W. McGaughey was born in Putnam County, Indiana, on January 16,1817. He was principally self-educated, as he entered his father's office as deputy clerk at a very early age. He was married to Margaret Matlock on January 18, 1838 at Creencastle, she being the daughter of James Matlock and Rosanna (Wood) Matlock, of Danville, Indiana."
I am looking for anyone to verify for me the connection of this Margaret Matlock to James Matlock and Rosanna Wood. I have a copy of the family bible of Edward Wilson McGaughey and Margaret Matlock. I have information from this bible that shows the birth of Minerva Lindsey(Lindsay) and her marriage to Milton Turner.
Here is what I believe: Rosannah Matlock, the daughter of James Matlock and Rosanna Wood, married Rollin Lindsey and they had a daughter Minerva. Rollin died the year after Minerva was born. Rosannah then married John Dunn. John and Rosannah both died before 1842 and had 3 children together. Minerva would have been 10 or 11 years old when her mother died. After the death of John and Rosannah, their children went to live with realives of Rosannah. I believe that Minerva went to live with Rosannah's sister Margaret and her husband Edward Wilson McGaughey.
Can anyone who has done extensive research on the Matlock family, confirm the connection of my Margaret and Rosannah?
