According to a book called "Maryland Catholics on the Frontier", I have 2 Mattingly sides to my family. I am hoping to connect them with some help.
1st Mattingly lineage: Barton/Bartholomew Mattingly b. abt 1776 d. 31 Oct 1883 (age abt 57); m. Elizabeth Cambron/Cambern civilly 1819 & religiously 1824. He is the son of Luke Mattingly & possibly Nelly Cambron/Cambern or Eleanor Thompson. Luke & Eleanor married 11 Feb 1772, St. Inigoes Parish, St. Mary's Co., MD. Children of Barton & Elizabeth: Mary, Benedict, John, Austin, Matthew (possibly James Matthew b. abt 1828, MO; m. 15 Apr 1850 Perryville, Perry Co., MO Matilda Anna Dean d/o Henry Dean & Mary Ann Tucker), Elizabeth, Ann Robertson & Ann Vessel(ls).
2nd Mattingly lineage: Thomas Mattingly - Elizabeth Thomas Mattingly (1659-1714) - Elizabeth Ignatius Mattingly (1704-1789) William Mattingly (1750-1817) - Catherine Spalding William Mattingly married 1st - abt 1780, MD Mary Spalding James Mattingly (1784-1835) - Ann Manning d/o John Manning & Anastasia Ormsby 2nd - abt 1790, KY Nancy 3rd - 18 Mar 1794, Nelson Co., KY Elizabeth Clark William Mattingly (1795-1844) - Elizabeth Catherine Manning d/o John Manning & Anastasia Ormsby
The book also states that Astronaut Thomas K. "Ken" Mattingly & MLB player Don Mattingly are related.
