MRS. KATHERINE MATTINGLY JUNE 20, 1940
Mrs. Katherine Mattingly died at St. James hospital in Pontiac, Tuesday, June 18th, following a long illness. The body was brought to the McGuire funeral home and later taken to the Mrs. Mary Kueffner home where it rested until the hour of funeral today. Funeral services were held this forenoon at 9:30 o'clock in Saints Peter and Paul's church with Rev. Father Markey officiating. Burial was in St. Patrick's cemetery, where Mr. Mattingly is buried. Katherine O'Connor was born in Charlotte township, January 19, 1871, a daughter of Timothy and Margaret O'Connor. She spent her life in this locality and was married August 21, 1894, to Frank Mattingly, of Rich Hill, Missouri. Most of their married life was spent in Missouri but for a time they resided on a farm south of Chatsworth, later returning to Missouri where Mr. Mattingly died December 8, 1938. In October, 1939 Mrs. Mattingly came to Chatsworth to reside with her sister, Mrs. Mary Kueffner. On February 24, 1940, she was taken to the hospital for treatment and remained there until her death. She is survived by one brother, T.J. O'Connor, of Chatsworth; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Kueffner, of Chatsworth, and Mrs. Julia Brady, of Cullom.
