Frederick, age 62 in 1850, has to be the son of Henrich, so Hester is his 2nd wife as he married Elizabeth Nagle 12/1813, and she died 5/11/1827.
You think Frederick was quite a man, still having children at 66. What about poor Hester at 54? With all those children there have to be some records somewhere, but I sure cannot find anything online.
Would you please provide me with the ages of the children in the 1850 census for Frederick?
The 1830 Douglass Twp., Berks Co., PA, census lists, on the same page right together, Wm Mauger, Henry Mauger, David Mauger and Frederick Mauger, 4 of the 5 living sons of Heinrich. John died in 1829 and Jacob is listed on another page. For Frederick the following is listed:
5 - 102
10 - 151
15 - 201
40 - 501
5 - 101
15 - 201
20 - 301
It appears that Frederick had several children by Elizabeth and that he had married Hester by 1830 and may have had children by her by then. I am wondering if any of the children in the 1850 census were Elizabeth's. Whatever, Frederick sure was prolific.
A piece of trivia. Catherine, the sister of Frederick's 1st wife, Elizabeth Nagle, married Frederick's brother, Henry Mauger. Elizabeth Nagle's brother, Samuel, married Frederick's sister, Elizabeth Mauger.
