Mary F. Mauney
I'm looking for information on burial place for Mary F. Mauney.Mary was born abt 1877 in Gold Hill, Rowan County, North Carolina. She died 17 Feb 1947 in Fulton County, Georgia, while visiting a great-nephew.
Mary's obituary appeared in the Atlanta Constitution Newspaper on 22 February 1947, as follows:
"North Carolinian Dies During Visit Here
Miss Mary F. Mauney, 70, of Salisbury, NC, member of a prominent North Carolina family, died Friday [17th] while visiting R. F. Yancey, a grand-nephew, of 907 Argonne Ave., N.E.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by West View Funeral Home
Besides Mr. Yancey, who is Atlanta manager of the Associated Potteries of Ohio and representative of the Ohio China Company, Miss Mauney is survived by a brother, Sid Mauney of Old Fort, NC and several nieces and nephews."
Mary Mauney was the daughter of Franklin Hosea Mauney [1845-1905] and Rebecca Snuggs [1838–1900].Franklin and Rebecca Mauney are buried in the Gold Hill Cemetery, which is located on St. Stephens Church Road, Gold Hill, Rowan County, North Carolina. However, after researching that cemetery, it does not appear that Mary was buried there as well. There are several burial sites that are unmarked in this cemetery, but it's not known if one might be Mary's.
Would like information on where Mary is buried.
Thanks.
