I haven't been checking Genforum for awhile, so this message was a surprise to me.I think we have a connection.I was wrong about Joseph being Almira's father; he was her grandfather. Her father was John and her uncle was Philip.I have a copy of a letter written to her by Philip when he was dying and was giving money to Almira and her brothers and sisters. They were in Nebraska and he was still in Danville,Pennsylvania. If you can make those connections for me, this is very exciting. What is your connection to this family?Almira Maus Sharpnack was my father's grandmother, the mother of his mother. She died in Lincoln Nebraska at age 92; she had lived in Lincoln since 1884; her husband, George Sharpnack, died in 1911. He was a pioneer miller in Lincoln.
Almira's mother was Rebecca Gray; her brothers and sisters were: Abraham, Bunyan G., Hannah Jane Johnson, John, Jr.I think there was a Joseph, but he was deceased at the time the letter was written. The letter was written in November of 1878 and apparently, Rebecca Gray Maus was living at the time of the letter.
I would appreciate any other information you can give me.Thanks for the great start!
