Edward,
I would be glad to send you a copy of my dissertation if you would reimburse me the cost of copying and mailing, $10.The copy, however, will not be bound. This is a Ph.D. dissertation that I did in order to complete my studies at the University of South Carolina.Just send me a mailing address.I have contacted the University of South Carolina Press about publishing it; they wanted me to reorganize it [in effect, take some of the religious emphasis off], which I will not do.Maxcy's life cannot be explained apart from his devout Christian commitment.I also contacted Judson Press {American Baptist]; the acquisition editor didn't think it would sell enough copies to justify their investment.I may still contact Brown University or Union College.Perhaps an endowed publisher might take it someday. In the meantime, I am honored that you are interested in Dr. Maxcy's life.He was truly an extraordinary individual who made a mark in his day.Sincerely,
Tom Vann
