Responding to your inquiry for earlier line of your Simeon and Lucinda Maxson, I have researched the Maxson line for my wife, and although I do not have a specific, I strongly suspect that the following might be leads for yor further research.
My wife's line comes down from a George Maxson, born 24 August 1773 and died 14 Feb 1848. He was married three times, but I do not have that data as to two of them. However, he did marry an Elizabeth Read 18 October 1800. They had two children: Simeon(my wife'sline) born 10 December 1806 and George Maxson, born20 November 1811 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. George died 26 January 1895 at Marble Rock, Iowa. This could possibly be your line.
I have a note that reflects he married a Rachel Harbert in 1842. This must have been one of those two later marriages. The note goes on to state that hemoved in 1834 to Champion County, Ohio and later taught school in Allen County, Ohio, and then moved to Iowa. You will note also that the 1850 censusfor AuGlaize Township in Allen Countyreflected two Maxsons, a Simeon and a George)then reported to be 38 years old. I believe you also mentioned Clark County, Ohio. It was there that a John Henry Maxson(in my wife's line) was born .
I hope these will give you enough leads to trace see if that George is the ancestor in your line. Dates and names are pretty close.
