You may find the Maxson Family Association (www.maxson2000.net) based in Rhode Island to be of great help.They print newsletters that I have found to be very helpful.There is a Maxson/Maxon Family reunion in the Kansas City area this summer.Previous reunions have been in Rhode Island.We'll be looking forward to attending since it will be closer to home. Also with the strong influence of our ancestors serving the Seventh Day Baptist Church, I have found their library in Janesville, WI to be great. I would guess that all Maxson/Maxon family members descend from Richard one way or the other.I thought I had no relatives, but after being in contact with these sources, I find I have a rather large family circle.
