There is a Nathan Maxson listed in Brown's Maxson Family Records (1954)
He was b. probably in Westerly, RI 9 Dec 1758, son of Matthew Maxson and Martha Potter of Westerly. m. 4 Dec 1783 Nancy Vars, b.17 Mar 1765, dau of Isaac and Elizabeth (Burdick) Vars. Nathan d. 1834.
He was not a Loyalist (British sympathizer) but is listed among the Revolutionary soldiers who came to Hartford Co. PA.Was on the Gibson tax list 1816-1817.
Ch.Nathan, Elizabeth,m. Richardson, Catherine, Matthew, both d. 30 Dec 1791, Isaac Vars, Edward, Sarah.
CheckHistory of Susquehanna Co., PA.
As far as we can determine all Maxsons/Maxons are descended from Richard Magson, first mentioned as joining First Church Boston 1634.
