In 1850 Amos, a farmer, and his family lived in Butler Twp., Montgomery Co., OH.Living with the family in 1850 was Adaline MILLER, 11y b OH & William CASTLE, 24y old laborer, b OH.In 1860,Amos 45y old farmer, b PA, & his wife, Nancy, 28y, b OH, was living in Cynthian Twp., Shelby Co., OH with P.O. as Sidney, OH at 129/343, with real estate valued at $1800 & Personal Property valued at $450;with these having gone to school within the year: Catharine 13y, John 13y, Montgomery 12y, Martha 7y, and young Amos Franklin MAXTON was only 2y.All children were born in OH.Amos & Nancy lived in Cynthian Twp., Shelby Co., OH at the time of the 1880 Federal Census. They eventually moved to Miami Co., OH.There are 13 burials on the Amos MAXTON family plot, Lot 85, in Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua, Miami Co., OH.
