I am seeking information about my paternal grandfather Joseph S. Mazza (b. 3/13/1884? d. 11/8/1957). In the US Census of 1930 for San Francisco, his place of birth is recorded as Pennsylvania and parents are listed as "Mazza" and "Bianco" - no first names or other data recorded on them. I am not sure when he arrived in San Francisco, but he married Nellie Titus sometime around 1900. He and Nellie had four children - Joseph, Josephine, Mary and WIlliam - and three other children by Nellie's previous marriage to a man named Harris - Charles, Lillian and Nellie. Joseph was a brickmason and became active in the bricklayer's union in San Francisco, eventually holding the position of local president for a number of years. He was apparently very reticent to talk about his past so little about his early life was ever shared with the rest of the family. Any information or help would be appreciated. Thanks.
