Hi Ron & Lynne,
Glad to get a personal message from you. First let me answer the McAndrew questions. No I do not have any information on John Thomas McAndrew; however I do list a John H. McAndrew born about 1847 in Bradley Co., TN and could be the father of John Thomas McAndrew. On page 23 and continuing on page 24 of the McAndrew Book I do identify who should be the paternal head of our McAndrew line that migrated to Lawrence Co., MO. He is Joseph S. McAndrew, son of Joseph McAndrew and Susannah Lucretta Gregory, born 5 Jun 1808, date and location of death are unknown, married 1 Feb 1834, Jefferson Co., TN, to Elizabeth (Gentry) Doherty. This family moved to Lawrence Co., MO about 1849/1850. His family is listed in the 1850 US Census for #27 Green Township with all but the last two children by Malinda Perry reported as being born in Tennessee. Before arriving in Lawrence Co., MO he had remarried on 17 Nov 1840, Bradley Co., TN to Malinda Perry. My book does list children by both marriages And yes I still have copies of the book. The cost is $30 which includes the postage. What would be great if your correspondent would search the census files for Lawrence Co., MO for the other McAndrews that lived in that area. I have corresponded with some McAndrews in that county but none responded that were related to our John H. McAndrew. It seems the only responders were descended from the McAndrew lines that came from Ireland.
