My great-grandmother Elizabeth McBane was born in Glascow Scotland. She was 5 yrs. old when she came to the United States in 1852 with her parents and brothers Daniel and Phillip. I do not know her fathers or mothers name. Her maternal grandfather was Black Billy Smith. I have not been able to find her for 35 years. The spelling was McBane here in the states as well as in Scotdland. There was an article in the paper about one of her sons when he died and that was the way they also spelled. I have never found it anywhere in the genealogy listing. It's as if she never existed in Scotland. I hope you can help me to find out anything. One other thing I do know is that her father was a tailor in Glascow Scotland and the family story is that she was a beautiful seamstress and that is all the family knows. thank you.
