In 1774, two brothers, William and Robert sailed from Port Kircudbright, Southern Scotland on the "Lovely Nellie" bound for St. John's (later known as P.E.I.).Among the other 64 passengers were Grizzell Harrieson, age 19, and David Harrieson, age 40.William and Grizzell later married. After mice had destroyed their crops for two consecutive years on P.E.I., many of the settlers moved to N.S., including Wm. McBurnie who settled in Halifax. He and Grizzell had 11 children, among whom the following baptismal records were found for:David (03/05/1783), Wm. /(22/05/1785), Mary (19/07/1788), James (22/06/1794), Henry (22/06/1797) and Hugh (b. 1792).Two of William's sons, David (b. 07/02/1783 in Halifax; d. 07/02/1867) and Hugh moved to Five Islands, Nova Scotia where their descendents still live (my father owns and operates the family farm - fifth generation to do so).Robert McBurnie's descendents live in Tatamagouche, NS.
If anyone has any further information on William and Grizzell's descendents, especially David, I would appreciate hearing from you.
