Mary Casey immigrated to New York City. After ten years of domestic labor she m. William Boyle.They planned to migrate to KS. William left with $70. William ended up in Independence, KS and heading north stopped at the infamous Bender Inn near Cheeryvale where he met death at the hands of his host. Not hearing from William for two months Mary set otu to find him.The Bender's scheme was finally disclosed and Mary learned of her husband's death.Mary knwe only one person in the area, a distant cousin, John McCaffery.They were married in Independence in 1874 ane located near Castleton, Reno Co., KS.They had 5 children: Kate J. m. John E. Davis, 1893;Mayme or Mary, b 1876, m. Harry G. Johnson; Benjamin, b. 1878; John T, b 1881, m. Lulu May Williams, 19 Oct 1905 & James Edward, b. 1884, m. Nora E. Pricer / Preisser. John T. & Lulu May had three daughters: Jean, Beryl & Nadine Jean M. Ray N. Cottrell [1994-1967]b. Kimball, Neosho, KS.
